BLU ( Street art / arte urbano )

BLU es  uno de los máximos exponentes del arte urbano actual, para mí uno de los mejores. Afincado en Bologna ( Italia ) aunque con vocación nómada, este verdadero artísta contemporáneo, que al igual que Bansky también oculta su identidad, se ha hecho notorio por laminar y cuestionar las estructuras del poder, reflexionando sobre sus siniestras estrategias en la manipulación de la mente humana.
Sus inconfundibles graffitis gigantes desafían los mecanismos represores a través de un lenguaje surrealista e irónico fascinante. Siempre alerta de la actualidad, ha "trabajado" en  lugares tan diversos como la franja de Gaza en Palestina, South Africa, Sud América, Marruecos, casi toda Europa , etc. adaptando sus creaciones, tanto al contexto del lugar como a las características del espacio elegido.
Autofinanciándose a traves de su web con la venta de serigrafías, libros o DVDs sobre sus acciones ..y según sus propias palabras manteniendo un perfil de vida muy bajo, consigue realizar en 2008 su proyecto más ambicioso hasta esa fecha : rodar durante dos meses y medio en Buenos Aires  un corto increíble de siete minutos con la técnica de "stop motion "          ( fotograma a fotograma) utilizando las paredes de la ciudad como soporte.
La dimensión del trabajo realizado es sencillamente impresionante : 4000 dibujos a gran escala, borrando y volviendo a pintar para cada fotograma. Se llama "MUTO a wall -painted animation" y te deja sin palabras. Luego llegarían el corto "COMBO" y  su última animación "BIG BANG BIG BOOM" igualmente geniales y sorprendentes. Lo mejor es que no os los perdais, son alucinantes.

BLU is one of the great exponents of today' s street art, a favorite for me. Settled in Bologna  (Italy) this truly contemporary artist has a nomadic vocation and hides, as well as Bansky, his real identity. His unmistakable giant graffitis face up the system with a surrealistic and fascinating personal language. Always up to date with today' s news he travelled  to Gaza in  Palestine, South Africa, Sud America, Marroc, Europe, etc, adapting his message to the context of each place and space.
He finance himself through selling in his website serigraphs, books and DVDs about his actions...and  keeping a low living standard, spending almost all his money in paint and  transport. 
In 2008 he went to Buenos Aires (Argentina ) to start his most ambicious project 'till then : a seven minutes "stop motion" short film using the buildings of the city as a giant canvas.
During two and a half months he did 4000 drawings, erasing and painting again over the walls in order to give the final  motion effect. The name of the film is "MUTO a wall-painted animation" and leave you wordless. After this big success he created two more shorts  "COMBO" and his last creation " BIG BANG BIG BOOM" , equally brilliant and surprising .
